The Mattia 52 with its curved daggerboards reminiscent of those on the most beautiful racing boats is an obvious example. And now the Italian builder has just announced the start of construction of a new 52, to be built entirely in carbon and equipped with diesel-electric propulsion. This propulsion will allow nearly 100kg to be saved, compared with a classic installation, and will offer excellent performance, as the Mattia 52 Carbone will cruise at 9 knots, at 2000 rpm, with very low energy consumption. The hull of this very special version has already been infused, for a launch in the middle of the year.
