One of the pioneers of flying in a trimaran, the Hydroptère, continues sailing, and even sailing rather well, as it has just successfully crossed the Pacific between Los Angeles and Honolulu.

And although the Transpacific record wasn’t broken - the weather conditions weren’t right - this remains a feat for a trimaran which was the speed record holder (44.81 knots) over... 500 meters!
The trimaran’s program now is to set off to take up station on standby in California, ready for another attempt to beat the record.
