This time things are really moving for the Class 5 catamaran from O Yachts, as construction has just started, with a launch planned for 2016.

Just like the much-appreciated Class 4 catamaran, the 17-metre hulls have been optimized to offer good performance, with a total ready to sail weight of 13.5 tonnes, and a fully laden displacement of 17.5. The Class 5 catamaran’s major new feature is the ‘third hull’, devised by Laurent Bourgnon, which doesn’t touch the water except in rough seas, but offers stiffness under sail and comfort inside.
The builder is offering accommodation which can be completely customized on the 35m² platform, and there is even a version with a flybridge.
