The specialist in masts, booms and rigging, whose history dates back to 1962, now has 86,000 sq ft (8,000 m²) dedicated to production, increasing capacity by 40% compared to its previous sites.
The new factory brings together anodizing, machining, welding, assembly, painting and rigging operations. It notably features 75-foot (23 m) anodizing tanks, among the longest in Europe, as well as two 74-foot (22.5 m) machining centers. Sparcraft is also focusing on surface treatment with a powder-coating process applied over unsealed anodizing, designed to improve resistance to corrosion, abrasion and UV exposure.
The environmental aspect notably includes on-site water treatment, reduced water and energy consumption, waste recovery and the installation of photovoltaic panels. Ultimately, the site is expected to employ around 70 people, with approximately 20 additional jobs due to be created.
