Patrick Lüscher’s Loopings form a special family of production ocean cruising catamarans. These provocatively-named models of from 45’ to 56’ are chosen by experienced sailors for demanding projects. The test of the Aquablue version gave us an insight into why, and turned the spotlight on a rigorous architect who is creative and innovative.

The catamaran according to Patrick Lüscher
The creator of the Loopings is trained in aeronautics and has kept a taste for light structures with fluid lines. As the volumes of the Airbus service hangars couldn’t compete with the call of the ocean, in his eyes, he quickly turned to boat design and construction.
